We base in the southwest corner of Costa Rica - in the heart of the "last best place", the Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park, where the jungle meets the sea.

From there engage in a variety of explorations including whitewater rafting, exploring the primary rainforest with our own naturalist/guide, sea kayaking, a jungle canopy tour, hanging out on a secluded beach -- and of course flyfishing! On 4 different days** the fishing opportunity will be up to you.  Choices include: Casting from pristine  beaches and isolated river-mouths where patrolling species come close to shore - including, snapper, jacks, dorado, snook and more. Casting from small boats and/or sea kayaks in the vast mangrove forest of the Rio Terraba delta for giant Pacific snook (up to 50#) Throwing a line around Isla del Cano and its reefs for roosterfish and who knows what else (Garrison picked up a 52 pound red snapper this way) Sailfish and Marlin hunting (yes, you can use flies) in the beautiful blue Pacific on a large sportfishing boat with experienced flyfishing crew. ** We have set aside the better part of 4 days for fishing and most of two days for other eco-adventures. You will choose one of the four environments so you get the chance to try them all. (At your option, you may fish on one of the "non-fishing"  days also.)  Big-game days cost extra (about $2-250 per person)

Other than fishing: The trip is designed as an eco-tour/flyfishing adventure -  for die-hards as well as softies.  If you want to fish all day, you'll have the chance.  If you want to take a more leisurely approach that is your option.  And if you want to bring along a non-fishing spouse or friend, they will go home happy too! There will be ample opportunity to relax, explore, hike, bike, raft, beachcomb and soak.  You will decide. In the end you will no doubt have some "trophy photos" of fish you might not even know exist - and non-fading memories of a true last best place. And you will do it all during a week when you will be treated like family by some of the warmest people on earth.
